Boeing to Resume Commercial Aircraft Manufacturing Next Week

Around 27,000 Boeing staff in the Puget Sound area will return to production of the 747, 767, 777 and 787 jet programs.

Staff in the Puget Sound for the 747, 767, and 777 will return starting April 20, whereas employees on the 787 program will return April 23.

In January, Boeing halted production of the 737 MAX after two deadly accidents in five months. Employees on the 737 program in Puget Sound are returning to work beginning April 20 as they resume working toward restarting MAX manufacturing.

Boeing, which stated round 200 workers around the world have tested positive for the coronavirus, is instituting a series of safeguards along with staggering shift start instances, adding floor markings and signage to maintaining physical distance and requiring face coverings for employees at company sites in Washington.

Boeing is asking employees to carry out self-health checks earlier than coming to work and to stay home if unwell. It’s going to conduct employee wellness assessment before every shift and voluntary temperature screening at many manufacturing areas.

A Boeing spokesman declined to say whether the corporate would seek government help.
