DroneDeploy Enters into Drone Mapping, Announces $35 Million Series D

DroneDeploy, the leading enterprise-grade drone software program solution, today introduced it closed a $35 million Series D round led by Bessemer Enterprise Partners. Bessemer associate David Cowan, a 14-time Midas list investor, will even join the Board.

“Drones are remodeling how field workers safely and precisely survey job websites across industries in construction, agriculture, energy, and more,” says Cowan.

The investment comes at an interval of rapid momentum for DroneDeploy. The firm recently declared entry into the drone inspections sector at its annual conference in San Francisco. It further proclaimed new collaborations with Airbus and drone manufacturer Skydio. This latest round brings DroneDeploy’s total funding to $90 million; also participating investors in this round included Energize Ventures, AirTree, Emergence Capital, and Scale Venture Partners.

“Companies of every dimension are turning to DroneDeploy to enable them to make better choices,” says Mike Winn, Co-Founder, and CEO of DroneDeploy.

Tracy Young, Co-Founder, and ex-CEO of PlanGrid, the leading mobile development productivity software program, further joins DroneDeploy’s Board of Directors.

“Drones are powerful and valuable enterprise tools, however, what the market was missing was accessibility paired with world-class technology,” says Young. “DroneDeploy is an authentic, motivated software program firm working to democratize commercial drones and disturb traditional industries. I’m proud to provide my views and insights as they push forward.”

DroneDeploy will make the most of the funding to expand internationally, move into new industries, and build out its suite of choices for clients.
