Boeing Awarded New Contract for A-10 'Warthog' Wing Fixture and Replacements

The U.S. aerospace heavyweight Boeing has been awarded a brand new contract for continues A-10 Thunderbolt II support.

The Division of Defense and Boeing declared on Wednesday a settlement with a maximum ceiling value of $999 million for A-10 wing replacements.

Introduced into the Air Force plane inventory in 1976, the grand, affectionately called the ‘Warthog,’ A-10 is the only manufacturing-built aircraft for close air support. The plane was made to fly near the ground in assistance of friendly floor troops, drop heavy loads of weapons, attacks armored autos, tanks and can be called in to hit enemy ground forces.
